There's some logic to what they're saying

It's not unreasonable for people to want the aesthetic of a very familiar character to remain the same.

Not everyone is gonna see the bigger picture.

I saw this online and was disappointed by the amount of black people that feel this way. It's kind of strange considering that most if not all were comfortable with Brandy's portrayal of Cinderella, where by Disney's standards should have been a blonde haired blue eyed white girl.

I think it's much deeper than that tho in my opinion, because when Zendaya was announced as being the potential lead there was not any backlash that I saw, but bump her skin  a few shades darker and throw some more kinks in her hair and it's "oh no, not my Ariel" I just think it's sad that some black people feel this way.
