what are ur thoughts on the whole "poz, undetectable" mess?

some of the gors really like SPRINGING that on u at the last minute. like bitch, why that wasn't the first thing out yo mouth if all we trynna do is fuck

:udontlookok:

but anyway, i be trynna be hip n progressive but i.... i just can't

i mean i know they say it next to impossible to spread it.... but i just can't get with it. i be feeling bad tho. but then im like ok how SURE are they that it can't be spread. i feel like my mindset is a bit ignorant on it but i just naturally give a better safe than sorry mess.

thoughts bbys?

MelMel

that just happened on this show I was watching. These guys were having sex and whatever and then the bottom goes and says he was undetectable and the top was really mad about it, understandably. But then he was ignorant about it because he was like, I can't get HIV because I'm a top :uhh: But anyways, he gets tested and gets confirmation from the doctor that he can't pass it on and puts the top on PreP.

But back to your story, people should be upfront about their status so that they can then process the information and do their own research about the matter before making a decision. And always practice safe sex regardless.

FlowerBomb

Basically, the poz girls don't wanna say upfront because of stigma, ignorance and mostly because the gorls in general have loose mouths, but then the gorls should know because it's their right to make an informed decision.
it's a grey area.
that's why we're working to make HIV a easy topic to talk about and have it looked at something that's easy to talk about and not much of a "big deal" and think about like diabetes to avoid those kind of situation, but I don't know if HIV will ever lose that stigma.

I think you should protect yourself before expecting anyone else to disclose their status. Some people may simply lie/are unaware

Plastic.

People should be upfront about their status, but everyone should also practice safe sex.

I'd say at least they have the decency to let you know before you guys get in bed together.
Them telling you as they mount your back would be another thing.

If it was just planned to be a sexual encounter I'm assuming that you didn't know them very long, so there's not much "deception" involved I guess. It's not as if you dated them for 6 months, tongued them down, they went down on you multiple times, then they decided to bring it up as you guys were doing laundry one day or something.

Get into the habit of proactively seeking the information by asking the person upfront once you meet them. It's a tough question to ask that may "spoil the mood" a bit, but get it out of the way. If you're sexually active within the Black gay community that question should come just as casually as asking them their age.

dghhjjj wish a nigga would

:udontlookok:

but no i ALWAYS ask. i just feel like if u know issa possibility that a nigga won't want to deal with you because of it, why not just put it out there. instead of wasting damn time.

but i was moreso asking what you guys thought abt BEING with an undetectable person. i didn't do the best job of setting that up in the OP

:dead:

As long as you can trust that person to be up on their meds, I wouldn't let that stand in the way of love.

Ohhh ok.

I honestly don't know. There was this one guy I talked to a few years ago ...he was cute a very nice personality and was pretty open with his status.

I actually considered it. It really wasn't a huge deal to me, but I think that's because I've taken quite a bit of time to educate myself on the topic. But it's definitely not something that just runs to the back of your mind and never returns to the forefront again.

You do think of it. But the good about him outweighed the challenges.

u considered dating him or fucking him?

it's so hard. sometimes i wonder if the stigma didn't exist would people (myself included) would be more open to the idea

but then the fear also plays a factor. ugh.
