I think it's just a respect thing.  I felt disrespected because I work very hard and pride myself on being self sufficient.

But once I talked to my bestie about it , it made more sense to me. She kinda came at it from the same angle you are. And I calmed down and forgave him obviously cuz we ended up dating. fsfsfsffsf But I literally was in tears after that moment with him.
