Why would she even have them on if Monique said she didn't wanna be involved?

I mean if Monique wasn't the famous one then Oprah wouldn't even want her family on the show.

That was disrespectful and thirsty.

It's Oprah's job to talk about this shit whether it's unsettling or uncomfortable. If Mo didn't want to come on the show and tell her story that's her choice, but her family has the right to tell theirs.

She clearly said she had a long as convo with Oprah in which they went deep and spoke about their relationship with their moms.
She knew that Monique and her mom wasn't on good terms.

I'm sure if the situation was reversed Oprah wouldn't have wanted her family on anybody's talk  show.

U don't get to tell them that they can't speak because u dont agree with their version of events.  If u wanted to disagree then she gave u the opportunity to do that and u declined.  Oprah at the end of the day is a JOURNALIST and journalist need to remain impartial.  Her calling asking what she felt about the Brother being on was TOO MUCH tbcfh. Just because she empathizes and sympathizes with u doesn't mean she abandons her professionalism. Y'all in here speaking on some emotional shit. Talking bout "she knew her story". They were giving their version of events.  There are plenty of celebrities with scandals and mess in their personal lives and no one wants someone speaking against them and their brand.  She dont get to stifle people because she disagrees with what they have to say

Oprah isn't a therapist. Her objective is to conduct interesting interviews and to keep the ratings high.

Mo'nique's gripe with Oprah involves her sense of morality, not her obligations.

You have to understand that she's not saying, "Oprah should have called me first. Doesn't she know that's standard rules?"

She's saying, "Wow she DID call me and spoke to me for a long time before she even had my brother on the show, let me know about my brother being on there, we had a whole heart-to-heart, but she failed to mention that my entire family would be on her show."

There's a difference. It's understandable that she'd ask the question, "Why didn't you mention that you'd have my whole mother on there while we were chatting it up about our parents for hours?"

And ask, "Did it not cross your mind to say, 'Oh yeah girl by the way I'm having your mom on the show lol' as we were having that in depth conversation about our mothers?"

It's a very reasonable question to ask, and it's very reasonable to even assume that Oprah was a bit underhanded with how she approached this.

To say, "Oprah ain't gotta do SHIT" is really simplifying things. Like, really simplifying things.
