yeah I gotta find someone new to stan for. Naomi Osaka is talented but hasn't really done much since leaving Sascha. Coco Gauff is young and coming up, but I gotta wait and see before I hop on that bandwagon.

Seeing Queenus win Wimbledon in 2000 and leaping around the court like a gazelle is the reason I started playing. I could never love any other the way I love Queenus. Her and Brandy mean EVERYTHING to me. I became a Serena fan by default. But I can't imagine how shattered I'd be at the thought of tennis without Venus. My heart hurts just thinking about it.

I remember being like 12 and hearing a lot about Venus and how tennis was mainly for white ppl but her being so good 
around the time Tiger Woods was getting attention too.
Then I saw a Reebok commercial of Venus that had Serena at the end and was like "wow she has a sister? why don't ppl talk about her?" I became a fan of both but mainly Serena after I watched the 2002 French Open final. I just wanted to root for the underdog but it was so entertaining I fell in love with watching

I was always the Venus stan and my dearly departed brother was the Serena stan. He would get so mad at me when I would say Venus let Serena win those grand slam finals. He got killed two months after Serena won the Australian Open and took time off cos she was pregnant.

I got into them in the late 90s cos my bro would make me watch them on TV instead of cartoons.

It will be tragic when they stop playing. I might stop watching tennis altogether unless some other fierce bitches come along.
