They're the most in sync gorl group to me. Everybody meshed so well together 

not many girl groups slayed with no distinct leader

And their voices complimented each other perfectly

Terry was a gospel girl with the highest range
Cindy was very Broadway
Dawn was more modern R&B with the occasional riffs
Maxine was the deeper, sultry voice needed to round out the whole sound
