BARACK OBAMA SLAMS CALL-OUT CULTURE... 'That's Not Activism'

Barack Obama doesn't want to hear about your outrage -- not if it's just on Twitter -- because he believes a society that's judgmental to the max is one that doesn't make it better.

The former President called out the current "woke" culture -- especially on social media -- while speaking Tuesday at the Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago. Obama's big point ... everything is not black and white in this world, and people make mistakes.

He told the audience ... "The world is messy. There are ambiguities. People who do really good stuff have flaws," and said the idea that everyone should be pure and perfect all the time needs to go away.

Barack added a hypothetical example of getting on Twitter and calling someone out for doing or saying something wrong, and then sitting back and feeling satisfied about it.

44 says that's not activism and it's not enough to bring change, or as he puts it ... "If all you're doing is casting stones, you're probably not going to get that far."

Michelle's comment sounds like a typical "be all you can be" line a guidance counselor would give a lazy student. I'm not seeing where she's perpetuating respectability politics in that, but I'm sure folks are already upset about it because their favorite verified twitter activists told them they should be.

but grr how dare she n stuff

And they twisted his words. He didn't say anything about "woke culture."

To me, being "woke" means being aware. Nothing wrong with that

He's right about "call-out culture." If sitting on Twitter attacking someone who opposes your views and you arent doing any work beyond that, than yes, it's a problem. Social media has become one big of one-upmanship.

At the same time, I'm not going sit there all meek and subservient, and hope that  someday  they see the error of their ways. Sometimes you gotta be more Malcom than Martin and come at that neck. Yes, at a stranger, across the INTERNET! Cause sometimes that's all it takes.

I see it as her mirroring what her husband was during his presidency. Two terms of him hoping the other side "comes along" and tip-toeing, hoping not to offend the white folk who supported/supports him.

There are books to sell after all.

And niggers don't read

The "woke" and the "call out culture" are two different things imo
Of course there will always be people who take things too far and it becomes annoying, but that's the small minority, either way the "woke" era has opened a lot of people's eyes and minds.
It's done a lot of good, you just have to filter out the pretentious

And I'm sorry...thinking about it more, this shit is irresponsible for someone like her to say. Cause ALL we've done is do exactly what she said when it comes to THEM, and what has it gotten us?
