They get to write and produce these huge features about how R&B has finally become "good music" when it's just only now that bougie white like the lo fi pseudo-intellectual mess

I remember Rochelle Jordan's mixtape ROJO around 2011. I thought wow this is like Aaliyah meets Neptunes but in a modern way. Very dreamy.. most songs were not really catchy  (except for Shawty) but they were a mood.  It was more like a mixtape than a professional album but I liked the harmonies and this chill vibe. Jhene Akoi  - Comfort Inn ending, SZA, Frank Ocean - Novacane, Drake, Bey - You're mine probably also inspired this new generation of artists. 
So now a lot of these artists sing mellow emotional songs and tbh after a couple of them I just need some more energy.  It is like drinking too much tea.:disgusted:
