Everybody loved Ashanti's mess and if I'm not mistaken, Full Moon wasn't a critical success until a few years after it came out

yeah, full moon wasnt getting praised as this masterpiece the year it came out at all. i'm not surprised that the grammy went to ashanti. the album was pretty solid itself. and i can see even grammy voters at the time being more impressed with it then.

Yeah I think Rolling Stone bashed Full Moon during its initial release... now Afrodisiac, they played with that one... even though it was Usher's year she should've been able to snag something
