Y'all aren't using pemdas right.

you do do parentheses first. But then you compute left to right.

" There are no Exponents. We start with the Multiplication and Division, working from left to right. NOTE: Even though Multiplication comes before Division in PEMDAS, the two are done in the same step, from left to right. Addition and Subtraction are also done in the same step."


So it's 8/2x4 = 16

It depends on how you do it. Putting in in a calculator how it is gives you 16, but using PEMDAS gives you 1.

Scientific calculators have PEMDAS rules coded into them. So if you are typing it into the calculator correctly it will give you 16 which is the correct answer.
