wasn't expecting to be in my feelings this morning
was just BOPPIN on iChunes music to kwee's Homecoming teas
this came on and before i knew it tears were running down my mug .

always loved it since I was little ...it was just something about it
but now that I'm old enough to really articulate what I hear...I'll say that it's full of hope, strength, struggle, sadness and perseverance of our ancestors...you feel it all through the hymn. It's so fucking powerful

It's no wonder why this is the Black National Anthem :stressed:  :'( :'( :'(
