Well the common misconception is that black girls dont take care of their hair, it doesn't grow long, etc. I get why people complimented black girls on their hair length, but in 2019 girls are very much hair knowledgeable now. That plus the whole NATURAL movement has girl hair looking nice and healthy. My timeline is full of girls with long ass natural hair.  My thing with this beyonce shit is it LOOKS like a Damn wig, but mama said it's hers so i just wanted to  take her word for it

I won't discuss the length of a Black woman's hair with her unless she brings it up. If I'm complimenting her , it's telling her about how great it looks overall. No need to give her a medal for growing hair.

Unless she specifically says, "Af, I've been tryna grow my hair and it worked!" Then I'd chat about her length with her...because SHE brought it up.

It's really bad with black people tho.
