No shade, but I think King got it right. Loose Rap doesn't even sound like a single, much less a comeback single.

MTAM was the obvious choice though.

Tim ain't get shit right. If he said anything like that, it was out of pure jealousy, not strategy. I think Quee was serving a warmup mess with Loose OR WNAR. A slow burner album. They knew MTAW was a BOP bop that's why that amazing ass video was already filmed and in the stash. But RTB said wayment, on the radio, and intercepted.

Something definitely happened with Timbaland and the old crew, but I don't think it was Justin.

When Timbaland's own label that he started didn't work out is when he cut ties with everyone.

I think some people in the business told him that he needed to switch up his style, that his "classic" sound was getting old.

Or he is just full of shit. Let's not forgot even Aaliyah was mad at him before her death. Maggie, Missy, Gin, everyone was upset with Tim. Idk what he did to those people.

Tim said he wasn't getting paid by Blackground, which makes since due to Barry.  Missy also refused to work on Aaliyah's red album.  Tim did as well, but relented at the last minute. 

Not sure why everyone else was mad.

Lolz, I don't think that's why she was mad at him because the label wanted Tim to have the first single and Liyah pushed for More Than a Women on her own remember. So if she was mad, it was because they choose Resolution over Women for first single.

The label wanted the tried and true formula but Aaliyah wanted what she wanted, regardless of whether it would "flop" or not. Aaliyah wasn't a "gotta have a hit "  type artist.

She really should have that time, tbh.

I think the album and Barry were putting needless pressure on her because they panicked once WNAR didn't pop like they wanted.  They rushed her to film the RTB video, didn't book flights properly to accommodate the entire crew, and tragedy was the result.  I don't think there would have been all that pressure had MTAW been dominating the airwaves at the time.

Queen was really out here not performing WNAR and just strictly doing MTAW. Her rehearsing WNAR in her Diary episode was such a tease b/c it never came to life. 

MTAW would've been a cute lead though and I guess a proper follow up to the Try Again success but she wouldn't be Li if she ain't go with the too left choice w/ WNAR

I do think she wanted to avoid being too predictable and formulaic as an artist.  A run to Tim for a hot bop mess would have been expected.  And safe.

She already struck gold when she gave relative unknowns a chance to take the helm of her previous album.  She wanted to do the same thing with Keybeats.  Sis was a risk-taker.

Filming for Queen of the Damned played a major part on why Missy and Tim didn't work on the Red album in its core stages... Their schedules didn't allow it and I'm sure the pay wasn't enough to force them to be in Australia for a while... I remember Tim saying he wasn't going to send her beats either during that period

Why is that even a thought, a possibility? He knows something and that never sat well with me. It wasn't an accident though. And for them to send her to Bahamas after a lot of scenes were already shot in the states. You have to go to the Bahamas for beach scenes? And provide them poor accommodations while there too? oh girl. the whole thing was bullshit
