I agree completely. Don't tell the mother just yet, but have a serious talk with him. We gotta remember too that when we were 12, we werent exposed to as much as these kids are so we gotta try to see things from their perspective. Imagine if y'all had instagram and iPhones at 12, and exposed to all that the internet has to offer with apps and x-rated sites. So I say set his ass straight, but do it with love, and let him know he needs to get his shit together and if you ever see some shit like this again, you're going straight to his mother.

Now if and when he cleans up his damn act, if you want to, and if you feel his mom wont blow up, you can go to her and let her know what transpired and that as his uncle, you handled it. Reassure her that since his dad is trash and he wants to hide things from u, u will intervene and make sure he's str8 and if anything gets out of hand, u'll make sure he knows in the future, but as his uncle, u really do wanna make sure u keep the line of communication open between u too, especially as he goes into High School. Tread lightly.
