It ain't even just a black thing or "omg depict us better" thing for me. He just has a lot of power and hires a lot of black actors on the cheap

It would be nice to have some GREAT fucking content and a wide array of stories told along with his input. There's literally no downside to improvement, bouncing your ideas off of one another and elevating each other and your own content as a result. I just can't imagine ever being content with my work to this extent where i don't feel like i need help or look to get better

Most artists like to be challenged, but i guess he'd rather challenge himself by writing things out all on his own. More power to em i guess

He got ahead by cashing in on black tropes because he knows as well as we know there's a audience that will always be loyal to that content and entertainment.

He's expanding in every way imaginable in terms of his studio and giving space for others to rent out and even sleep in, but won't take that approach with his actual content.

There are nuances he simply can't possibly know in the way that they would. It's why shows like Insecure really resonate with so many people and there ain't nothing BUT women in that writing room

And no one really knew who Issa was before that show, so it has nothing to do with respectability politics or not being as "ghetto" IMO
