Not shocking at all. Humans are gonna do what they do.
its still ALWAYS gonna be a biased mess because you have music executives and fellow artists voting on the mess

If a certain artist doesn't use, or they have no vested interest in a certain song winning, it can change everything. It's like if Matthew Knowles were in the committee again, or Alicia's former manager sdddd

They'd probably be real petty

!
Yup exactly my point. Humans move with their emotions, beliefs etc... it will never be solely based off material. Even then that shit is subjective to that person  :dead:

Ariana should never be up for no damn song of the year no how

Makes sense. I'm sorry but some of these song of the year nominations  :dead: im a big fan of HER and don't even remember how that song fucking sounds sdddf

Not beating out ARIANA and Ed Sheeran

As much as I LOVE Hard Place, instantly when I first heard it (in my top 10 for songs in 2019 for sure), I never in my wildest dreams expected it to get that nomination.

Song Of The Year is a songwriters award though - its not Record of the Year, so maybe her nomination is legit.

Also, this Grammy CEO is speaking about the 2019 nominees - I think Shawn Mendes' song was the song that just didn't belong one bit.
oh ok that makes more sense

The Grammys are always a mixed bag though. One year it's about hit songs, and the next year it's about artistic integrity and songwriting sssdd

Oh yeah. For sure. They definitely nominate some of the big names, just so they can get them to attend, walk the red carpet and perform.

Drogon

Fuck a Grammy

I hate that black artist put so much pride into the white awards but shit on their own

All these award shows are rigged

Wait a damn minute. There is something else to this apparently the old president raped a female singer(this is the real reason he stepped down) which is why they get prestige now over the others  :uhh: :uhh: and people are on twitter saying it's H.E.R. or Taylor.  :uhh: :uhh:

I'm pretty sure the 2019 nominee she's referring to is Brandi Carlile.

If you look through the list of noms for last year's ceremony, specifically song of the year, you'll notice something odd

EVERY single song listen has charted in the Top 15 or higher...except for hers.

Could be. I thought that one too. But hey, for 2020, HER's Hard Place hasnt charted at all, and its up there. Brandi is nominated for Song Of The Year again this yr too, so who knows, maybe ur on to something.

But hey, that's life. There's politics in every damn thing. U cant even give the Billboard Awards much credit either cause all it takes is for stans to stream their artists favorite songs on 10 devices to get a song to chart these days.

BAPHOMET.

:disgusted: Oh.... so NOW everyone is on the Grammys are rigged boat ?

Matthew Knowles: "I felt angry, I felt disappointed and quite frankly, a lot of that had to do with Columbia Records. Adele and Beyonce are on the same record label. I still have my record label so I know exactly how this works. I've been on the Grammy committees for years. Columbia had to make a decision who they were going to support because you never want to split your vote. Then neither one would have won.......as a record label I want to have all my people who are eligible to vote to vote for one person, it's like the President [of the United States]. They didn't want to split the vote so I hold Columbia responsible and I hold Beyonce's team responsible. Her team did not understand the political process in winning Grammy's"

I mean, Beyonce hasn't really been sweepin like she used to since Matthew stepped down. It's all politics.

This damn read up.  :uhh:

THE GRAMMY SHITSTORM CONTINUES

The bombshells just keep dropping. Deborah Dugan has filed a discrimination suit with the EEOC against the Recording Academy. As The New York Times, Variety, Rolling Stone and other publications have reported, Attorneys Douglas Wigdor and Michael Willemin filed the complaint, which outlines sexual harassment of Dugan herself by attorney Joel Katz (at a dinner just after she accepted the job in May) as well as "exorbitant" fees he and his firm, Greenberg Traurig, collected; charging that her predecessor, Neil Portnow, "allegedly" raped a female recording artist, which was "the real reason his contract was not renewed," and that Dugan was asked by former Board chair John Poppo to offer him a $750k consulting contract; "egregious conflicts of interest and improper self-dealing"—including fees paid to Board Members who were supposed to be volunteers—"and voting irregularities with respect to nominations and awards" amid a "boys' club mentality and approach to governance"; and that Claudine Little, the assistant behind workplace complaints against Dugan, monitored her email and reported to the Grammy Board. A subsection of the complaint on the awards and the secret nominating committees is titled "THE GRAMMY VOTING PROCESS IS RIPE [sic] WITH CORRUPTION."

How will these explosive charges play out? How will the Grammys weather all of this? We're hearing rumors of female performers planning to drop out of the show. How many pianos will Alicia Keys have to play at once to change the subject? Stay tuned.
