BITCHHH she ATE this 

Not to discredit Monica sounding "grown" on her debut, but it was also greatly helped by the fact that most of the background vocals on that album were done by Debra Killings, who was in fact a grown woman.

Oh plea, it was the lead vocals that sound grown


The end when Mon starts to go awf like she been married and divorced 

Guess just different opinions...With the exception of maybe "Why I Love You So Much" and "Before You Walk Out of My Life" the lead vocals from the songs on her debut always sounded like she was TRYING to sound grown...as if Dallas was like "ok...use your 'grown' voice". All that grumbling and mumbling was not cute.
