Because unless your working in a healthcare setting, it's not known to be effective unless your wearing them consistently
Walking around in a mask walking to the bus stop isn't going to anything.
It's more beneficial for people who are constantly exposed for many hours a day like in a hospital.

They probably want you faggots to stop buying up stocks to wear for 4 hours a day and leaving the people who actually need them and they're most effective for (healthcare professionals) who are constantly around the sick and contagious 12 hours a day

if the virus is everywhere at some point and you just need to go to the supermarket every two weeks and wanna wear a mask to protect yourself, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to do that. You can't deny that it decreases the risk of giving/ receiving the virus. It's mandatory to wear a mask in most of China, I guess they're stupid? The government needs to say it as it is, masks can protect you and others a bit if used properly, we just don't want you to steal them from the hospitals or buy them online from some sketchy sellers. Also we were too lazy to prepare.

homeopathy isnt ,,green" and it doesn't have anything to do with naturopathy. I'm all for using herbal remedies but those homeopathic globules are literally just sugar. In a lab you can't find traces of anything other than that. It's a fraud and the only way it works is through the placebo effect.

No one said it isn't effective, but UNLESS your gonna be around patients 12 hours a day it's not going to be MORE effective than washing your hands and upping your hygiene and personal care.
Your government probably said that because dummies are going to rely on the masks and ONLY the masks as some sort of ultimate barrier when there are other more effective preventative measures, like washing your fucking hands and covering your mouth when you sneeze and cough
The normal person is going to scratch their faces, pick their noses, use their mobile phones whilst wearing a mask which defeats the purpose of wearing one in the first place, that's why they said leave them to the people who actually need them and who are going to use them properly

but once we are in full lockdown the average person will only remember that ,,masks don't work" and they will not take this extra protective measurement because of that. the few hours that they do work, its to protect the OUTSIDE from your breath, not the other way around (surgical masks). construction masks and things of that sort do work to protect you from the outside, but there is no air filtration happening, so they are absolutely no protection from a pathogen like this.
