Apparently This is really popular. I found this out my freshman year of college when my friend made spaghetti for us and was putting sugar in the mess

Yeah sugar helps to balance the flavor as well its not to turn it into a desert only dumbasses look.at it that way
The same way butter balances out ice cream

The same way lemon.balances out sugar in fruits


I also use sugar in my greens and cabbage to balance the savory

Also use it when im sauteining onions and sauerkraut  for hot dogs

Also add it to cornbrrad to soften the taste
