I get my hair twisted at a hair salon in Harlem where there's a straight male receptionist and about three male stylists with just as much male customers as females. The straight guys are getting their locks done, touched up and their hair washed by the guys. I've never seen that before but none of the guys were sweating it. It was great to see that there were no hang ups every time I saw that.
i get it though it's just apart of our culture and gender norms. I just don't get how some don't realize that getting your hair cut is just as intimate, if not more. Barbers are touching your face, all in your grill, fingers practically in your mouth, maneuvering your head, there's a lot of uncomfortable body contact at times, and barbers are doing extra stuff to make sure men are super groomed. It's actually like getting a massage / a male spa so idk why niggas are fronting like it's not. It feels Good!
