Kalifornia.

I watched the preview and even though the subject matter is male, this show is clearly geared towards females.

It's basically a "glimpse into the mind of the straight Black male".

I applaud Tyler for trying to tell Black stories, but once again he's writing from a perspective of which he has no experience. Just like when he writes these stories about women. That's why a lot of his material comes off as cliche. That's what it's based on, cliches.

All the more reason why he should consider bringing in other minds to help him flesh out his ideas and make them more realistic & relatable.

I still give him his props, but his formula needs a refresh.

this seems corny
and I think females and gays are gonna watch this more than anyone else
but I like what he's trying to do
um .... excuse you?
Why would you think gays would watch this more?
because of the format,
I dont see straight men really sitting and getting into this heartfelt show unless its very funny
im still ... confusion
Gay men and str8 men are all men

What you tryna say babes?

they tend to watch different tv shows

Gay men are cleaner, more successful, more educated, and wealthier.

Without having to rap, well drugs, or throw a ball.

That's a proven fact babes

first off, i'm typing on a phone nigger

Second off, I'm switching back and forth from the porn chat and this.

So cut me some slack ok

Lastly, yea ... there's definitely a difference in education. Like you and me for example.

Kalifornia.

It's very well possible for a male to write female stories.

But let's just be real. A white person can also write stories about Black characters, but they'll never be able to truly capture the realities like an actual Black writer would.

It's the same with men writing from a female perspective.

that's not a fair comparison

tyler grew up in a household with black women in it , went to schools full of black people, etc.
he had an entire black experience full of black women.... each step of the way.

can the average white person say that?
maybe he's just a shit creative

Yes he grew up around Black women, but at the end of the day he's not one.

Can he pull from the experiences of others and write a compelling story? Certainly.

But compelling doesn't necessarily mean authentic. If that's what he's going for.
