it's not as easy as just throwing some drugs, HIV and ghetto antics into a pot to get a Tyler Perry level of success

he's creative and talented, and knows how to tell stories that will actually RESONATE with an audience

the same gorls who are crying about his mess not being classy enough are probably the same who are tired of seeing slave movies on TV.

anything that reminds us of our plight, past or present, should be removed apparently
he is talented, which makes it so much worse. You see that when he branches off into a new area like Alex Cross, Acrimony, and Good Deeds. Decent flms but the difference makes it clear his generic ass stories are made the way they are for a reason. He knows he has those church girls, black women, and gays

And it's smart I'm not mad. But at what point do you stop sacrificing art for a dollar?
did we ask jerry springer why he didn't dive deeper into art?
go for more for more a tear-jerking Oprah mess owt?
maury? or do/did we enjoy and even reenact the outright ghetto foolishness they put on our televisions every day?

"HE DA DADDY MOWY! LOOK AT DA LEFT EARLOBE MOWY!"
"I FIGHT MY MAMA! I DONT GIVE A FUCK! :plea: "

heelair! oof!

but we so quick to jump on this black man for making his coin doing something FAR less damaging to the image we seem so concerned about

im sorry but i dont use.
at least the money he's making is coming BACK to us in some way.

let him have his lane and be successful in it! why are so we so hard on him?
:disgusted: Tyler cut you a check bby ?

nobody cares about black white people blah blah blah

Those crackers can do what they want. What you're not getting from me is that I'm not trying to compare Tyler to what whites are doing

What I'm saying is Tyler is the only black man in this world in his position to provide quality stories curated entirely by blacks.

Yes aids is real
Yes black scorned women are real

Okay

There's much more to this place we live on

GRAND ETERNAL SUPREME

And to say oh am not ever letting anyone write my mess!!!1!1!

He knows how hard it is as a writer, especially a black writer, to be on some credits

ALL the talent out there, he could put someone else on.

I am not into creating art, at all, but I know business. He's doing great for our community, but he's very selfish and that's a fact. But do on Tyler. I'm not cottling him because he's the only one doing it. That's just like those girls desperate to please anyone who is helping them when they're running out of resources.

What I'm trying to get to YOU is that "quality" can be completely subjective.

and you should act like it.
duh

But 20 movies/plays about the same thing?  :dead: :kii:

His first play was 1998

:plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop:

So if that's your angle, what I think, then there's nothing else for me to say

BAPHOMET.

Bentley. HARRIS!

s

how are the dollars coming back to US when Tyler doesn't hire black writers, doesn't pay as much to black actors, and lots of his production crew is white  :kii: :kii:

I understand we want to dodge valid questions, but .... c'mon now  :plzstop:

Sinpool

Afro were not accepting Tyler's Ghetto Hallmark Channel movies and that's that

He's shown variation in his work.
even from the earlier days

Good Deeds is nothing like A Diary of a Mad Black Woman
I Can Do Bad All By Myself is nothing like For Colored Girls
The Family That Preys is nothing like Madea's Family Reunion

So what do you mean by the same thing? I'm confused
They all have the same theme, thats the problem

Black people are not just AIDS, sagging pants, and pissed off black women

When he put those braids on Shamar Moore, I wanted to jump though that SCREEN

Being around around so many black people, he should know that. Nobody is asking him to perch some blacks in Malibu and do coke and have bulimia.

Tyler can do better.

and thank god. I mean Jordan Peele is as white washed as they come but 'US' was immaculate. they were black. and I never doubted it for a second.

Why wasn't that Tylers movie?
