It's a two tiered issue.

The first issue is the genre and it's supporter. R&B in its "heyday" was majority backed even by the white consumers and that's the issue.

The other issue is that they are not allowed to promote properly.

I mean....those numbers aren't surprising.
Mon is not making good music.

And Chris should be Iconic right now. But rih happened.

Yeah past tense. Now where is Antee

Kaeli.

No. I just don't think ppl were interested in Mon' this time around. My mom's a huge stan & she paid her dust this time around. I think it may have something to do with her HATING New Life :justabit:

Kaeli.

Also we kinda have no where for these niggers to promote. Where's 106? Bring it back! :flamebroiled:

It is a little of both.

R&B releases for the most part were awful this year. Look at the most recent ones for instance: R.Kelly, Chris Brown, Monica.... they were all a damn mess.

I really hope someone is gonna come along soon and really bring the genre back though. Maybe with Beyonc? most likely dropping the 1st quarter can help Jumpstart the process!

how is Beyonce gonna resurrect R&B when she's not even an R&B artist anymore?

There's only one pop song on Self-Titled and she hadn't made a pop song since IASF.

She's R&B/Urban/and a Spitz of Pop.

R&B like we knew it is over.

1993-2007 was the time for R&B. Just like disco, funk and any other genre had their turn. R&B had a long, strong and healthy run and is turning into a genre of back in the day.
