I wonder how TBIM would have worked with Aaliyah.

Before Monica came out it was Brandy and Aaliyah that were compared to one another. Aaliyah's second album was a big hit and she was Brandy's label mate so I wonder why Brandy didn't approach Aaliyah to do the song instead.

It's just interesting that the Brandy/Monica was the feud people chose to run with.

Sonically it would have been a different tea ; although I think it could have worked in its own way; I'm not sure it would have caused the same sparks as Branica . The dynamic would not have been as polarizing IMO

Part of what made the song so great was the differences in their voices and delivery.

One was very sultry, soft and airy
The other more sassy, in your face and fiery

It was the perfect pair tbh
