And still wasn't pushing them no units which LA and Def Jam admit was upsetting them. At this point she hadn't "found" herself and become the artist that we know today, until well deep into the GGGB era(which they were also disappointed with those album sales which is why they stop funding it half way through the era and Rih and her team picked up the tab.)

That's my point. Normani has two top 3 hot 100 hits, with no identity or defining sound. A similar start, let's give her time the same way others were given.

While I agree with you, the industry has changed and attention spans are minimal.

Rih came out at a time where it wasn't that easy to gain public attention unless a label were funding you unlike today where anyone can become a sensation overnight. Although there is now more lanes for black women to occupy and whether it leads to "superstar" status which I don't think any of these new girls have for it, Normani is still lacking.

Girls have been hyping her up for the past two years and still no breakthrough hit in sight. Motivation was an underperformance and she's already being surpassed. If Chloe x Halle end up taking off, I think it's a wrap for her.

Some of the new girls want the quick success without paying their dues first and it's never worked like that

That's all I'm saying, lot of these artists need time but the way were living and moving people are so quick to toss one away with given the time and growth someone will need.


And your correct about them wanting instant success. This generation thrives off instant Gratification. 

Which is why I said she needs to be doing alot more, her team works for HER. If she wants it that bad she needs to take charge. Now. My only argument is give her time and a chance even though that window is quickly closing.
