I don't know... I think because she was scared of Bert she might have loved Dame because he sounds like someone who would protect the people he loves. He can get a bit aggressive and edgy, at the time he probably was less bitter than now.. and during that time he was hanging out with Jay and his career was actually going very well..they had mutual friends. He loved fashion and Aaliyah was planning to create a fashion line so it makes sense.

I think certain perceptions of Aaliyah can be a little skewed either way because none of us REALLY know, but, she certainly didn't and doesn't strike me as the type to settle for anything if it wasn't special or genuine

Dame had to have done something right to be in her space as often as he was. That was a privilege if you ask me.
