he's actually kinda lucky that he did the honest thing

the money that was left was completely legit ....it was actually a person who was responsible for filling the ATMs who left the money there accidentally

so they most likely woulda looked at cams and tracked that mess down. 
pretty sure a wells fargo drive thru mess is chock full of cams.

so it wasnt like an illegal mess he found that coulda been brushed under the rug a bit.
