FRANCE

Jhene, Summer and SZA would be the current/new R&B girls I guess

Based on the thread title, it would have to be Whitney, Mariah and Celine

Aretha stood on her own if u ask me. PERIOD.

You're grouped Bey wrong, she was never in a trinity with Brit and xtina, She was their opening act with DC, then she went solo when their careers took a Hit.

The right grouping is Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Ashanti
Your post has bits of truth in it for sure, but Beyoncé, like Aretha, kinda stands on her own IMO

Ashanti's reign was too short

Patti didn't start popping until the 80's.

It was more like Aretha, Natalie Cole and Gladys.

Not true Patti was really never huge commercially outside of Labelle and they weren't huge either... She had 1 big crossover song (on my own). Patti's fame is bigger than her success... She really was never an "it" girl
Eh... 🤷🏾‍♂️

In terms of impact.

Whit, Mariah and Celine >

Impact and everything else... They are the biggest and must successful people on this list

Edit: wait nevermind...I don't know bc madonna, paula, & Janet might be more impactful and successful... I can't decide
Eh... 🤷🏾‍♂️

I know. And that was in the 80's.

I was just saying if there was a trinity, it would be Aretha, Natalie and Gladys. At least in the 70's. But like Rig said, Aretha stands on her own.

Queen Patti's slew of hits >>>

Let's keep it lite gorls

They are cultural hits... Even Patti acknowledged in interviews she was never a big chart success like Gladys, Aretha, and Diana... Those are her own words
Eh... 🤷🏾‍♂️
