I love Kelly Clarkson has a TV host, but I need more music from her.  :dead:
And, yes, with the way Moesha left off, it could be virtually a brand new storyline. Especially with the amount of time that has passed.
That said—I'd prefer it to be a spiritual successor rather than a reboot, per-se. That would allow them to make any changes they see fit without having to play within the confines of the original show.

⚡ Flow like lightning. Strike like thunder. 🌀

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark;
the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

Maybe Kelly will cover a brandy song as well. She's so sweet

I looooove Moesha and obviously Brandy, but unless the writing is next level greatness, i just don't see how a reboot would work.

I'm - as of now-  not interested in what happened to Miles or how the show left off at all.  I think we should leave it there, but, maybe i'll be proven wrong.
Idk

I think if Moesha wrote a book with writing what happened in her life and answering those cliffhanger questions and tryna sell it to a major publisher would be a book for a reboot

i could see that

It can definitely work in some ways, but I'm not confident in it yet. I'd have to see the cast and whether or not they tap Mara Brock Akil in

Now that would help change my tune. That's where she got her start and she's a very strong writer/creator. Btw, Alexis Fields and Brandy are still close, so I'd love for her to reprise her role as Alicia if this does happen :kii:

Because of how Brandy usually closely guards things, I am shocked about how transparent she has been about current talks about the reboot and the meetings she's having. Maybe she was just excited to share.

I don't want the reboot to be a continuation of the old show. Build a new show and concept about the characters. They should completely reinvent it and not do the traditional comedy format and make it more like an Insecure dramedy.

That's my fear

I'm hoping she'll be more focused with this project and more in control than she was with the Zoe Moon project.

Her realizing that her acting chops can be better than that and the fact that she can do a lot better in the dramatic world is a great sign, so i hope they lean into that a bit more as well. It can still be funny, but i don't want them to TRY to be funny like the Zoe Moon show often did.

It was over the top and the jokes rarely landed other than a few lil moments here and there. She had just gotten through playing a larger than life character on the Broadway stage so I'll cut her some slack, but we can NOT tarnish the Moesha legacy IMO.

Please get a team of people that really believe in it and know what they're doing.

Issa Rae is a huge huge fan of the show and always deems it to be one of her biggest inspirations so who knows what could happen and if she'd help at all. Brandy also put Issa dressed as Moesha on her IG story the other day so that was very interesting to me lol Brandy always hints at shit in cute lil ways

If you notice, Brandy has been quick to preface every statement with "for anyone watching this, please know that i want it to happen", as if she's been getting pushback or if it doesn't happen, she's making sure she won't be blamed for it.

Negotiations must be getting serious

I agree. I'm here for comedy but I want Brandy to lean into dramatic acting. All the actors on the show are really talented and have that capability. I want to be able to see Moesha herself at a deeper level and a situational comedy won't be able to show the nuances of the character.

Also this isn't Fuller House where the show would be targeting kids (I hope not!) The audience is going to demand quality for one and it has to be on par, stylistically, with the shows that are popular now. Involving Issa would be a dream because I feel she would have a similar vision. Insecure feels like Moesha today just with a reversal of roles in the lead characters. I don't want to get my hopes up though.

Sovereign.

I honestly want Countess THERE! I want Count to win so badly.

Sovereign.

Countess sends me. Golden doing all that hooping and hollering and Countess giving you the one having a tantrum  :everythingok:
