Afro and I Tried should've immediately followed TAOL as the follow-up singles

I agree that the album was not radio-friendly but TAOL hook was VERY uneventful. The clip of the verse got me hyped and I was so disappointed when I listened to the full song.  :uhh:

"Where U Wanna Be" had a better melody but I don't think it was first single material either.

I'm not sure which song could have saved the album sales-wise but I wish they released the better tracks as the album was not radio-friendly anyway.
SSSSSSDDDDDDDDSDDDDXSSDDDDDDDDD

Yea, nothing was gonna save this album tbh.

Harlem

Afrodisiac could've been the first single just given the time period, if Milkshake and Yeah thrived in '04, Afro w/ the right push & video could've did a little something I believe

Yea. Afrodisiac was so fresh at the time and would've slayed with a killer visuals.

It's nice to have places like this for insider info, because I've seen some really interesting stuff said about what could've happened during this era.

I dont see why yall always say I Tried. Yall think it would have given a Cry Me A River moment just because its a dramatic Timbaland beat? N.

FRANCE

None of the songs on Afro was gonna be a hit. Brandy kinda struggled to have that bona-fide hit record after NSN. The 1st time I hrd a song I knew would smash after NSN was PID. Afrodisiac's best choice for 1st single was Afrodisiac. It was catchy and infectious. Would've worked well with the 106 and TRL crowd.

Kalifornia.

Where You Wanna Be is the best song, but it's just not a 1st single track.

All of these songs are amaze but they made the right choices.

Where U Wanna Be wouldnt have done shit.
SSDDDDSSSSSSSSS

Nodding Off n Where You Wanna Be are the only messes I could potentially see doing something.

unfortunately radio wise both songs woulda flopped.

AfroJisiac

the best choice they coulda made was to leave Adios and Black pepper in the 1st place ...they woulda had more options single wise!
thaaat was the biggest mistake.
