Because, first of all you're not entitled to a tip. It's a gesture, not a guarantee.

I would have edited that tip down to $0 so fast.

And they get paid a rate from Door Dash on top of their tips.

Tipping culture is such a scam in general. It literally doesn't happen anywhere outside of the world except North America because people get paid an actual wage.

I dunno. Clearly someone who is delivering food for a living is more likely to be struggling to make ends meet in some way.

I can't just grab my food and throw up the deuces - considering that these people work through all weather conditions  to get mess to people who simply don't feel like grabbing food themselves.

Food delivery is a luxury and should be treated as such.

Since Covid, most restaurants switched to  curbside pickup and some add a 10% tip in to the bill.TF.What service are you providing besides preparing the food.

But then again I feel as if I Could be operating from a place of "guilt".

i feel like I've been so blessed and I often find myself taking opportunities to "share" that with others .

thats probably more to do with my personality and it could be unfair to expect everyone else to operate that way - regardless of what their situation is .

some places add gratuity

but

i always choose to decline the cc tip and give cash but they took that option away

tip is optional in accordance with the  excellent service

It must've been 40 minutes from her home to the restaurant and then to his home. Not from the restaurant to his home. 12.5 miles sounds like a 20 minute drive which correlates with his estimate. People need to get out of tipping jobs if they can't deal.

Na... I used to work in Buckhead when I first moved here, the office was 9 miles from apartment and it used to take me almost an hour & sometimes over an hour to get there.

I do grubhub and she definitely overreacted... $8 tip for 1 bag from McDonald's is good. Usually McDonald's buyers leave $0. DoorDash a rip-off though, and the workers really do depend on the tips. She probably got paid $3 by DoorDash for that order.

Lol they really should show people what they are paying people to deliver their food. DoorDash and Postmates barely pay people bc they expect people to tip. For 12.5 miles she probably got paid at most $2.75-3 from DoorDash. It's McDonald's so she had to wait in line, place the order, then deliver it.

She's a fool for delivering it if she thought she wasn't getting paid enough. She could've just let the order go. Idk what she thought she was going to accomplish by doing this
