Multi platinum Atlantic Records recording artist Brandy kicks off the new year with "Beggin & Pleadin" produced by Pop & Oak, written by Brandy and Kirby Lauren. The production side to this single puts you in the mind of a (John Lee Hooker) rock and blues feel fused with a modern day 808 to get the trunk of your car rattling. Brandy broke her new single on Facebook with hashtag "Brandy Ever After", and we don't wanna assume, but it could be the title of her upcoming album. We'll keep watch for that.

It's possible it just hasn't been announced yet. There was just an article she did with ABC Radio where she stated the song was inspired by the Ray Charles movie and his song "Night Time is the Right Time". It appears that a lot of Ray's most popular catalogue is with Atlantic. The point being that it's not uncommon for record labels to dig into their archives to revive an older song for licensing purposes by sampling it with one of their current artist.

That said, the radio website stating she's with Atlantic could have just wrote that in error.

Atlantic is treating Jojo badly, imo.

So if a young and white singer gets that treatment, I have my doubts with them dealing with an r&b female in this current state.
