no she wasn't. Her fans only hype her up. Aaliyah the album was flopping bad and she couldn't handle the success Britney was having. My observation was she wanted that success but realized she wouldn't get it because of her race. I think her death was planned to get sales, because she wanted out of her contract. She was a great artist but timeless or legend is pushing it. She never showed us more of what she was capable of. Her music is very one-dimensional and is on the same level as beyonce. Neither have made a classic album, song maybe but album, HELL NO.

YES AND BAD. I brought that up in my response. Sis was doing horrible number and so was every new R&B female singer being released that year besides Alicia Keys. So I can see her management coming up with a scheme to sell records as the usual promotion wasn't working. She probably hate Britney and Christina for all their success + international coverage. Aaliyah was also very local, thats why ppl compare her to Janet, as Janet was local as well. Janet never broke through worldwide like Whitney Houston did.

see what, u stan all u like but this is fact. The album wasn't selling and her team needed a plan quick. The music industry is competitive and I'm sure Britney being around same age made her salty. U also had Alicia breaking through as well. Sis couldn't seem to catch a break or get media coverage

it was Gold which was good for only 1 month released

Lazarus

It was certified gold before her death. Up until her death it had only sold 447,000.
