I may have asked this, but I was thinking about it the other day.  You know how most singers/musicians have a talent that runs in the family?  Their parents or older family members can sing, and taught them to sing and play.

Beyonce is one of the only examples of a prominent vocalists not having a mom or dad who can sing.     Unless I missed it, but I feel like I'd remember Beyonce saying her mom inspired her to sing, or perused a career back in the day.  I know it ain't come from Mathew.

Thought so.  It's kind of cool and unusual that her abilities came from nowhere in the family.  God just said, "Here!    ".

I don't ever remember hearing that.  Just about that salon.  Seems weird she wouldn't have a duet or performance with her mom or something then.

Miss Tina enjoyed dancing and singing, which prompted her to form the singing group, the Veltones . It was during that time that the skills of the future fashion designer started to take shape as she and her mother designed all of the costumes

She probably can't actually SING though. Just because she was in a little group doesn't mean anything. If she could really sing we would've been heard her voice.
