Notes:

- He's always claimed to own the mansion he lives in, but he's now saying that he asked his "long time trusted friends" to buy it for him, and that they agreed to transfer ownership once he finished paying off the 1 million+ dollars back to them.

- Owners (including former Monolo Blahnik CEO) says there was no such agreement, that he was simply a tenant paying rent . he hasn't paid rent and needs to leave .

- Fashion industry is going against Andre and are backing his landlords

André Leon Talley eviction gets ugly: Insiders back ex-Manolo Blahnik CEO

Fashion insiders are backing former Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus in the messy legal battle to evict Vogue legend André Leon Talley from his New York mansion.

The Post exclusively revealed Talley has filed a bombshell lawsuit in Westchester Supreme Court claiming Malkemus and his business partner and husband, Tony Yurgaitis, were unfairly forcing him out of the $1 million White Plains home he says he owns.

But Malkemus and Yurgaitis insist they are the true owners, and had leased the picturesque colonial property to Talley, alleging he owes them up to $500,000 in rent.

The fashion insider, who asked not to be named, said, "I worked for George Malkemus and Tony Yurgaitis for many years, and can confidently say that [Talley's] accusations are complete stuff and nonsense.

"They are two of the most generous, loyal and forgiving people on the planet. They would give you the shirts off their backs and would never expect them to be returned. That they've maintained these qualities for decades, in an industry made up of so many egomaniacal vipers, is astonishing.

"They are also extremely private, so I can only imagine they feel betrayed and saddened that their friendship and devotion have been distorted into a web of petty lies."

Malkemus — who has more recently partnered with Sarah Jessica Parker on her SJP shoe brand — last year launched an eviction action against Talley in a bid to get him out of the palatial White Plains property, where the famed fashion editor has lived since 2004.

this is really sad .

If what he's saying is true, this basically means he took out a mortgage with his "friends" instead of an actual bank

which means his credit wasn't where it needed to be in order for him to buy the home himself

if this court battle fails him he's shit outta luck cuz his heyday has long passed so I don't see how he's gonna get back to making enough to perch in million dollar properties again

either he was gladly being underpaid by those white fashion people just to sit at their tables or he was getting Paid what he deserved and was foolishly spending it. This is incredibly embarrassing... especially for someone his age, cuz there's not much room for him to REBOUND from this if it falls apart on him.

I believe Andre . I believe they had an agreement of some sort but his #1 priority shoulda been paying that mess off so he could get that paper of ownership in his hands from them. ASAP . From the get go

Friends come and fuckin go. Not him assuming they'd be friends forever

There may be a little bit of both but I'm inclined to believe he was living above his means. I mean it's been 16 years and he's always perched in designer this and designer that but he doesn't own his home? Granted maybe he was gifted a lot of the stuff he has but this is really a mess :dead:

Either way this is very sad

yeah the fact that he had to take out a loan With his friends leads me to believe there were credit issues ... which could speak to him not managing funds properly

Either that or maybe he had good credit but just wanted a house that was beyond his means . A bank isn't gonna lend u money on something they know u don't make enough to pay back

Either way it's def sad. Usually these stories are a kii but i def feel underlying racism considering the parties involved . Said to see a black older gay man who found success going out like this .

If what he's saying is true. It's crazy how he didn't think to get the "agreement" in writing.

This is the end result of being a white man's whore I guess.

What they give they SNATCH back.
