they were the dumb asses for basically loaning someone With bad credit  a million dollars

How embarrassing. He probably felt like his rich friends would back him whenever he needed them to. I don't think this is an uncommon practice in that life tbh. Just like we throw friends a $100 here and there, I think celebs do the same. It's unfortunate that he was so dependant on everyone else tho

and it seems like a sane person would be modest in those types of situations. If his credit was bad then a 45k car really wasn't needed ....  at most spot me 5k to get me something that runs until my mess clears up lol

I think part of it was maintaining an image mess 

I can imagine him thinking that he couldn't be seen in off brand clothes and driving broke down cars ... being "Andre Leon Talley " and all 

I think that's how a lot of celebs End up laying in a financial ditch . Especially black celebs ... our community generally doesn't have a lot of conversations about managing or building wealth ... which kinda makes sense considering that A) we have bigger fish to fry like cops shooting us in the back of our heads for sneezing the wrong way and B) Many of us don't have money to begin with and are simply tryna survive week to week ... let alone save and plan  on a monthly basis 

hopefully people reading this Story everywhere will take something from It though. Sucks he has to be an example but there's a lot to unpack and learn from what's happening to him ....on so many levels .

I've seen people online says things like, "everyone is not meant to purchase a home, some choose to rent".  There is a lot of money to be made by purchasing a home in the right area.

It is shame that a man who was Vogue's creative director since 1988 would not own a home. New York City was actually more affordable back during the height of his career. Homes that were purchased for 1 million dollars in 1990 are selling for 20 million.  Some people can be so smart yet so careless.

Probably part of the reason his "friends" want him tf out of there . They would make a LOT more money getting him out and selling for current market value than finishing their 1 million deal with him.

whether it be a rental contract, a lease-to-own contract , etc .

only solid thing here is the deed to the home which is in possession of the gorls who are tryna kick him tf owt
