The reality is that most of his work is Ghetto trash, and I say that as someone who was a fan at one point. Even when takes his characters out of the hood setting there's always a character or two playing to the black stereotypes, so in my eyes he's part of the problem.
Tyler needs to do better. He's in a very prestigious place in Hollywood right now, it's time he takes a break and green light other people projects and hire some new talent behind the scenes. More writers, producers, directors and put out some real iconic movies/tv show for his niche audience.
If he would just take his time and focus on one idea/project at a time he might just shock his audience. But he has his hands in too many things all at once it's no wonder his content continues to be shit.
I saw someone comparing his stuff to soap operas, umm if Tyler took a few tips from the soap world he would already have better projects. One thing soap operas do better than any other medium is write real characters and that's something Tyler lacks at, all his shows are Plot driven. Everything starts with the characters on soaps: How will this situation A affect the character? How would situation B change character? How will situation C challenge character?
I just want him to use his clout in a better way. He's sitting right in Atlanta where so many things are being filmed. why isn't his name attached to Brandys new show? He has been making movies since 2005 I expect from him. There's so much more he could be doing for his audience that he hasn't even tried imo.
