All I know is that he definitely should've rode the Trap Country (Old Town Road) wave a bit further. He was considered wholesome to young kids with that song but this new image, it's a complete 180.
I get that he wants to be this trailblazer but unfortunately as a black man especially a gay one in Hip-Hop, you have to play the game for a bit. Add in that his songs are very meme-y and don't show much artistry to back up the imagery, he's going to burn out if things don't change.

People are hyping this up and while the song's cool, queer co-signs are not enough to carry his career.

I honestly don't think his/his team's goal from the beginning was to become a pioneer for gay black hip hop artists.
