i can see someone immediately putting out a statement, but filing a lawsuit is bit more of a process

is it a nike logo though? as i stated in my previous post, theres always loopholes around this kinda thing. if u look closely at the logo on the satan shoes, its not the nike logo. just in its likeness. this isnt the 1st or the last that companies have done this. they may actually end up losing their case because of how big lil nas x is, but people are also stupid as hell. if nike was selling something exclusive like that, it would be posted all up on their website. and did mschf actually promote the shoe as a nike exclusive, or did people just run with it because the logo and style looks like nike? i'm telling u, this lawsuit may not go anywhere.

trademark protection also protects LIKENESS  of a brand. not just outright claims or what's 100% a copy.

if there's enough room left for people to assume that's a nike logo, they have a case.

the fact that there are people in this thread who assumed nike was involved shows that there was misrepresentation - which i feel was intentional .

yes there are loopholes to some teas, but judges have common sense. they know when someone is pushing a product with the LIKENESS of another brand ...purposely.

im not saying its a 100% win, but it's solid. and valid

I have been following cases on thefashionlaw.com, they usually do a lot of research..so I think we're definitely going to see this in court. It's not just about the shoes but they also want all promotion material including digital files (photos taken) to be destroyed. They say they want the shoes and destroy them but I wonder if they are already shipped.

the promotion of the shoe does leave room for people to assume Nike could be associated with it

they see "Exclusive shoe line" being advertised and will assume Nike's on board

i think they have good reason for filing, considering how negative the press is surrounding the shoe

I think they could have created a shoe without Nike and it would have sold out as well.
That company created 24 Jesus shoes and didn't get sued so they thought they were safe I guess. 666 Devil sneakers is a cursed project, they should have known better than to create a Nike loves Satan: "Just do it, just go to hell." edition.
