Whooooo I love CHATTING about Sunscreen and skincare haha
If you don't want to use it for aesthetics definitely use it for health
The way the ozone layer is depleting letting in more and more rays people are getting burnt and skin cancer rates are vetting higher every year even in black people
I learnt from my dermatology placement to make it easier for you to remember
UVA-ageing
UVB-burning
The higher the amount of melanin the higher the protection, I think I read that the average black person melanin that's equivalent to about an average of SPF5, that means they can stay 5 times longer in the sun than a white person without getting burnt, but that's STILL inadequate protection
UVA rays penetrate deep in the skin and cause DNA changes that could lead to cancer and wrinkles, dark spots etc whilst UVB rays tan and burn the skin, that light cute tan is actually skin damage, it's your skins response to protect yourself, even when the tan fades the skin cells have already damaged.
I use SS every morning all year round, it's like brushing my teeth at this point.
