I just dont get how we are okay with white ppl being mediocre but for black people we put this pressure on them to do exceptionally better. "Oh since ur the black gay one, u gotta be near perfect". None of these new artists today are REALLY giving us anything at all (black or white). The Britneys, Janets, Beyonce's, Usher's, etc., we dont have that in this new generation of artists. And for me, Lil Nas X doesnt need to be this amazing ass performer in my eyes. Like why?

If the masses are okay with Dua Lipa doing her two step and Taylor Swift being one of the biggest selling pop stars out now while doing the bare minimum when it comes to stage performance, Ariana is merely just okay, Bieber is pure shit and urine on stage, and the list goes on and on, why does the black artist gotta go above and beyond to prove they can sit with the rest, when he is pretty much alrdy sitting with the rest? I dont like that mentality at all. What if he doesnt want to be this big entertainer? Frank Ocean isn't. He sucks live. And the other white gay men sure arent exceptional either. Sam Smith's queen self aint nobody's performer.

I think we are prob just spoiled because of the artists we came up seeing in their prime. Nowadays, all an artist has to do is do a lil twirl and shimmy, and the new generation of music lovers start yelling "Queen! King! Icon! Legend!'. Those titles arent even revered or earned anymore. Its a new day guys. These young kids dont care about all that shit.

I don't give a fuck what whites are doing. That's why niggas continue to fall and fail.  You too busy watching what Hoogers do. White gay male artists and black male gay artists have too different problems. Nas said he wants to perform  Call Me By Your Name at this years BET awards...that tweet in itself was revealing. He knows when and where to do that shit.

I hope bet says yes. The shade room comments alone will knock a few of you back into reality.

And I actually like lil Nas. I loved the call me by your name video  he looked cute dancing on the pole in his thigh boots  but the performance was over the top in a bad way. It's too ghey.

Love the freedom of expression. My only issue is the BLACK gay community is still fighting among the black community for acceptance. These types of performances don't help because it fuels this idea that all black gay men are pussies. Black gay men deal with exceptionally higher levels of bullying from other black men vs in the white community.

we have Lil nas doing this
just had porter with his flamboyance and HIV talk

like there's nothing wrong with the freedom to express. I'm just concerned that it's making it harder for black gay men to be accepted in the black community as more than hyper flamboyant HIV filled faggots.

I want to see more diverse expressions of homosexuality. Period. It can't always be THIS!
