Valente needs a recast
I like the two assistants. I hope they make Valente slightly less queeny next season though
Now that I've seen a full 3 episodes I think I can give an honest opinion.
The show is great! Has alot of potential. Brandy looks flawless and I hope that smig-bit of weight returns because it looks so good on her.
I see alot of Will & Grace but no Moesha. Zoe reminds me alot of Grace. Her apt, office, fashions, exuberant personality, childish anger is very Grace. Valente is trying to be jack but it just isnt working.
Valente character should have been a little more ratchet (I know cliche) or white. The valley thing just isnt believable. I think a Marlon Wayans type of man wouldve did the character more justice.
I like the over all storyline but the jokes could be a little less predictable. Its almost like I know the punchlines b4 they say them. I dd laugh out loud alot on ep. 2. They really shouldve casted a comedian (a la Martin/Wayans/Jamie). Comedians just have a natural humor that a writer simply cant replace.
Zoe and the white ladies dynamic on ep. 3 was great! I think Zoe shouldve had a white person in her office or as a friend. Zoe and Pearl are great together! They're dynamic seems very natural.
Gemini just isnt attractive enough. He doesnt look like a boxer. I like his acting and the relationship w/ his family.
I give the show 7.5 out of 10. The worst ep. was 1 and the best was 3, thats a good thing.

The show is racist. Out of the 5 women in her meeting, the only 3 that even got to speak were white. Not them adding Marisol and Sing-Lu as some filler mess.
And the role they gave this Pakistani guy is really awful, as well as the gay guy.

i still havent seen the show....and honestly have no desire to (not into sitcoms unless its from the 90's)
this should have been a black drama/thriller show instead of the same ol sitcom mess
that would've been epic and would've garnered more attention and be taken a lot more seriously

Keep in mind who you just quoted.
It's very possible the show will take a different tone in future seasons. Girlfriends for example started off as one show and ended as another. Anyone who wants Brandy to continue being on television should watch and continue to support otherwise the show won't even get legs to be able to improve. It has a ton of potential to grow. It's got the essentials (good plot, good writing, likeable characters).

Ya'll came down a bit hard on Vonc, but IMO he's only being a lot more open with how a lot of African Americans really feel deep inside. It's not uncommon for us to disassociate ourselves from Africa, and how Africans look, and that IMO is due to a lot of influences in this white dominated country we live in which tell us that the less "black" you are -- from the way you look to the way you act -- the more of a chance you have of getting ahead.
But I will say that I was disappointed in Vonc's comments, only because I thought he knew better. But this again goes back to the importance of doing research on your roots. Because whether you like it or not, our homeland is in Africa. We carry an average of 80% African DNA. You're not as far separated as you think . Culturally yes we are. AA's have our own culture, our own language LOL, our own familial structures......we are definitely our own people. But knowing where the blood in your body comes from isn't such a bad idea. You look a lot more like Africans than you think. We all do.
And there is great variety in Africa, from West to East to South to North. You questioned why I cared about this stuff, but this is why. So I won't be caught saying that my own people are ugly and that I look nothing like them. Again, it's totally not your fault though and I don't think you really deserve the lashings you got in here.
