Do you think it would be an even bigger hit than it was in 2012?
Assume everything about the song and video is exactly the same except that it came out today.
I honestly think it might be. Urban is IN right now, this time her good first week VEVO numbers would actually count toward the charts, and the video still looks current.
Curious to hear your thoughts 'n stuff.
:damselindistress:
I think it could be a bigger hit if it had more promo. And better lighting in the video......
I Actually think it'd do worse but I think it would get a cert
n
The video was a bit cheap, and with the same promo it got back in the day, I dont see it doing more
no

I'm getting upset all over again. That lighting quality was fucking disgusting. And parts of the video were not in sync with the song. :19k:
cvvc no
That afro scene of them dancing in darkness
wtf
Those braids were💯
Nah the song would prolly go nowhere, it came at the perfect time where urban was making a slow comeback from the dance music... kinda glad Brandy was part of that movement too... And she still had outlets to promote too like 106, daytime shows, etc.
Now I do agree Hype Williams and his crew could've did a better job with the video overall... I always visioned the visual being a performance shot, like the choreo we got through out the era but with a bigger feel and she should've had braids or the hair to the side like she did in the IABTM promo to have a consistent look...
The video was terrible. She looked amazing with those braids by that car, though.
That was the best look! I remember when the pics leaked I was like oh shit she bout to fuck it up!!!
Best Brandy single since What About Us. Felt good hearing her on the radio all the time & in the clubs..
This moment slayed.
Grateful for it.

I think it would flop tbh.
Not really a good song or video.
The song and the video sucked but she looked beautiful.
It would flop for filth TBH
And remember PISS BROWN was on it, and he's extremely late now
I just want whatever Brandy does now to have a meaning.
WD was the best song on Two Eleven because it meant something to her, you can tell
Ima listen to it right now actually
No LOLZ
surprised this hasn't been locked
I think it was a hot song. It just needed to be released to pop radio. It could have been a bigger hit than it was if was released to pop radio.
So it would slay now if released to pop radio as well.
Pop wouldn't dare touch this in 2012

Exactly it managed to peak @65 on the Hot100 from R&B plays alone so if sent to pop it would've been a top 40 hit for sure smdh. That still makes me heated. Put it down could've been massive..
Put it down is Brandy's most urban driven song ... It was fresh and young it didn't suck.. it wasnt meant to be a human type meaningful and vocal driven song
Had it been....It would have flopped so gorls.. please.
Put it down could have been bigger if her and Chris treated the song like a campaign..Oh yea brandy didn't always seem confident in the song or the album around that time... She needs to own every minute of it
q
Now everyone doesn't like it?
I never liked it, just never wanted to rain on everyone's parade..........so i just trashed it outside of the board LOLZ!
about the same. A little bit better than originally. Streaming is helping everyone now.
I enjoyed it then.
Ugh forgot about streaming
The way billboard changed the rules and snatched her #1 hit. Ch

WD may be the best song for some, but that song
killed the eradont want that type of song/single ever again
I mean I agree tho
if you put a song out and it doesn't smash but does moderately well
you need to go ahead and release the commercially best song from the album
which would make the order, PID, DYK, then maybe we could've gotten LMG/WD duo single
wow, I'm a pretty good A&R
:helloimangie:
I wanted Slower as a single. That song to me, felt the 'great r&b Brandy' to me, gave me Full moon album for some reason. the quality, the sensuality, the way she sung... it felt a hot song, basically.

you mean it made you cum?
no Brandy song can achieve that. sorry Bran :-D
on other hand... what did you think of young Storm? anticipating her next appearances? she's rumored to appear on New Mutants movie
One think I liked about PID was the way the general public and Urban radio embraced it. The teenagers went crazy over it. Brandy hasn't had a song that reached millenials like that in a long long time.
It def would have been bigger
Now that steaming is in
It was cute then, but don't think people want to hear it now

That's what I lived for.
Seeing my little nephew's friends go in for it.
The 2000-era-born kids.

just listened/watched
still sounds fresh.
i still love how she combined current mess with her signature harmonies. and the timing of the release...right smack dab in the middle of summer sdnsndsnd it was perfect.
but as much as i didn't use human, i think RHD is a better single.
PID was good though. people were actually talking about ghan and singing it....good time
PID showed me that Bran still has the capability of having a radio hit.
A sing-a-long urban slay.
She just needs to release them.
:dead:
Wooo! If DYK would've came right in that late August/September instead of WD that would've SHAT!!!
:stressed:

That's why I hate when some the gorls say she can't have "another radio hit or don't worry about the charts"
It's possible for Her to still slay them
