I disagree.

People really don't understand Black Lives Matter.

This All Lives Matter and black-on-black crime rhetoric is like white people saying, "Why can't I say the N word?".

Can't wait until that last dread falls off his fucking scalp, tbh.

I don't quite understand why intraracial violence or any of that other shit gets brought up while discussing police brutality when state sanctioned violence against black folks predates all of it. We were being harassed and murdered in our own communities long before a gang was created or anyone was selling drugs. I think most black people are just suffering from PTSD and don't quite know where to project their frustration.

Add on institutionalized racism being the very catalyst and reason for poor eduction, ghetto neighborhoods, no jobs & black fathers in prison.  And it becomes quite disgusting for any person, especially white, to point the finger at us to say we're killing ourselves.

This argument pisses me off.  Especially coming from black people.

Right, there's an entire system built around the downfall of brown people, and no matter what...all of the blame lies solely on the people who weren't able to escape it. White supremacy is real and deeply ingrained in our collective psyche, but it's easy to point the finger at the wrong group when you don't understand the structures trying to uphold it.

Blm is a counter productive contradiction.

Whats the point of marching begging white people to stop shooting us if black people go back to shooting each other the next day and still struggle to unify and build their OWN systems and communities

!!!!

PREACH.

I think that's why I just have such an attitude and overall disdain toward white people these days.  I don't care how friendly they are.  Working in a corporate environment where I've really made some moves has opened my eyes to how intimidated and threatened they are by black men.

I'll never forget the day after the election.  Everyone acting & pretending to be dumbfounded and shook.

Fucking crackers.

All these exuses for black on black crime

Those racist hillbillies will never give you loyalty or protection, LOOK at the people in your own communities for that. Unite and stop asking them.

Do yall even know what black people even did back when brutality got bad?

They  UNITED, rallied up the people in their communiies and fought back and chased those bitches out their neighborhoods.

Now if a police officer is mistreating someone black in their neighborhoods they just take out their phones to record as if that will do anything in court. But will instantly shoot up a black person on their block.

So if there is an entire system that causes the downfall of minorites, dont you think people should tackle THAT first instead of a damn march begging the kkk

There have been people railing against it for ages and the fact that you don't know this says a lot more about you than it does them, but I'm not doing this with you, Gen'! sor lol!

Dont even go there.

You and I both know that NO black activist organization has got most attention from blacks as black lives matter.

Of course it has been people who try and go against the system. But the effort from blacks hasnt been HALF as the effort as blm protests.

And even If we did, what does that have to do with the COMMUNITY as a whole still struggling to unite?

Once again, YOU not knowing of any other "organization" working in our communities other than the ones you see plastered in headlines is you're fault and no one else's. I know people who do it day in and day out and it may not be the March on Washington or any other romanticized fantasy of unity you want to see play out, but it does exist. These generalizations you wanna cling to sound like something straight out of some clueless white person's mouth.

There's no such thing as "black on black crime." Thats some shit thats been planted in your heads by the media. You ever hear of white on white crime or Chinese on Chinese crime? No. It's just crime. And statistically, people who live/work/etc in the same communities are more likely to commit crimes against each other simply because of proximity. It has very little to do with race. And I won't even touch on the socio economic factors at play.

The bottom line Is, is crime in urban communities something to be addressed? Absolutely. Does it have anything to do with police brutality or BLM? Hell no. It's just another way to shift focus from the real issues.

I hear you and the Media is a big hand in the pot, Some crimes are too specific though like a person with a record of killing LGBT people or a Cop who has a record of killing black and kids going to the same school killing each other over what ever silly reason to prove their dominance of a neighborhood, or trying any stunt to prove their heterosexuality bullying etc. We still let Jesus separate us all. It's a very complex thing  :-/

Asians, hispanics and whites UNIFY as a whole and pass down wealth and equity. Hispanics and asians also marry and start businesses in their communities and STILL have an overall lower muder rate than blacks.

Black people kill each other and dont have much to show for it

There's no such thing as "black on black crime." Thats some shit thats been planted in your heads by the media. You ever hear of white on white crime or Chinese on Chinese crime? No. It's just crime. And statistically, people who live/work/etc in the same communities are more likely to commit crimes against each other simply because of proximity. It has very little to do with race. And I won't even touch on the socio economic factors at play.

I'ma have to agree with you here, my cousin Red got shot last summer for no damn reason by a bunch of thugs and I'm like ???
They took his cricket phone..like wow, what a prize for taking someone's life.

Black people are also more likely to date outside the race (mainly black men).
We are dying!

Jayden: i already addressed it. Everybody kills. But once again, while you worried about the asians and latinos, they STILL have higher marriage rates, higher business rates and higher homeowning rates. Lower murders too.

And they arent being harassed by the cops as much as blacks, so again why are we worried about them?

Hey,

Self hate can also be exhibited by buying into or internalizing the same messages that are typically used to oppress, disenfranchise, or denigrate other groups of people.  Your discourse is one that can be found in any comments section online. You can't say you're aware of all of the systematic issues Black people face then kinda blame them for symptoms that derive from these same issues. Crime and/or the lack of unity is one of these things.

Also, as real mentioned all groups of people kill folks that belong to the same group. It's about proximity not a disregard for others who look like you.

I think the problem is that this is being seen as a blacks-targeting-blacks thing when its simply crime occurring amongst Blacks because they're in closer proximity to one another and poverty is crazy.

In NYC, you see a lot of Black on Hispanic crime as well, it's not about skin color or ethnicity, it's about living in the fucking hood and knowing that you better put that brand new iphone away until you get your ass home.

it don't matter if you're Black or White lolz :woohoo:

But we already established that all races kill.

But the difference is blacks are at the totem pole of damn near everything. Even latinos passed us up and most of them are illegals.

Blacks arent unifying enough (dont care what faux story any one here says, look at the damn numbers) to tackle these problems aggressively as much as they are doing it for a blm protest.

Thats all im saying

We have a lot of untangling and rebuilding to do.
My grandparents were alive when MLK was killed.  That's recent.

People weren't mentioning "black-on-black" anything prior to #BLM, so why say it now?
"black on black crime" has actually always been a saying in the Black community.

No shade but didn't we coin it? :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop:

"We gotta stop this Black on Black crime!"

So I won't say that its something recently introduced....

only now its not used so much as a joke or punchline as it was before.
!!!!!!!
I feel like the 90's were a big era for that

and by the '00's they were over it
:melmel:

!!!!

No one was checking to see if that stopped in the communities by the 00s, IMO.
And I don't see anyone is trying to stop it now.  At least it doesn't feel like it.

Blm has been active since 2012?

How many cops actually got convicted since then?

Not many... two just walked free this past month :dead:

But genesis is the dumb one.. kiss my ass
Im crazy and dumb. Blm is the perfect method and is effective and working

So where's the numbers? This your chance real.

We don't unify as much as we should.  That's my opinion.

But I don't want THAT issue to overshadow the #BLM issue.

It sounds like... stop killing each other FIRST, and then you can justify a white cop killing a black man and getting away with it.

And look at it this way. These white people now are descendants of slave owners. Why the fuck would they think you matter? When has it EVER been that way in their eyes? I never said "our community" is not killing "each other", and I'm not disregarding "black on black" crime (I'm using these terms just to simplify the point).

I'm just saying to allow BOTH issues to EXIST on THEIR OWN.

The point you guys are missing is that stopping police brutality WONT work without unifying as a whole. It hasnt worked and will not work.

But #BLM is a trend, and with any trend you will have contrarians.
And, they'll find any reason to support why they're not part of the trend, but are still concerned about their community.

Perfectly said.

I'd like to hear your proposals of how to UNIFY the community.
More marriages, boycotting  local non black businesses (major if possible). Also shack up in homes  temporarily to save money for businesses

Teach business classes and marketing to the youth. Encourage investing and not jordans.

Rally up local gangs and thugs and organize a payment plan to pay  for protection. Get them on board

Thats at the top of my head right now.

Black men killing black men (++ being jailed thereafter) vs. and cops killing black men (and getting away with it) are two different issues.
I agree with that 100%.

But #BLM is a trend, and with any trend you will have contrarians.
And, they'll find any reason to support why they're not part of the trend, but are still concerned about their community.

Perfectly said.
I love you.
