I'll stick to my SPF 15 in the lotion for now .
It's kinda a sun protectant mess anyway.
I just like my skin to feel like it's breathing and free as possible. I tried sunscreen once years ago and it was just too heavy for me.
Everyone's skin is different
Every sunscreen is different.
which 1 do you use? and what new products are you exploring :ATLcameo:
we haven't had our products threads in a while
For black people the best sunscreen is the Neutrogena Sheer range, it doesn't go on white, chalky and doesn't make you look ashy. And it has the best tested sun protecteion against UVA & UVB
It's sheer and light as hell, it comes in a sunstick and literally made for the face abd has 4 active chemicals
Beeswax and Sunscreen Agents
I use it everyday instead of lotion because it's just as moisturizing as well
(https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/L3cAAOSwx95bDBCt/s-l640.jpg)
yh it is lol
the sunrays doesn't take breaks, even during cloudy days, the sun isn't out but the rays are still penetrating through
People just make it part of their routine like brushing your teeth or putting on lotion after a showerr.
I was shocked when studies show over 70% of the ageing you see is caused by the sun.
Another big study showed a group of over 100 people wore sunscreen everyday for a year and it showed the SS gave the skin a shield and oppurtunty to repair itself and it's DNA from previous daily exposures to the sun and inadvertently decreased signs of aging by over 40%.
Black people have much more protection but not we're not immune to the sun
Not only more protection against saggy old looking skin, from but moles, skin damage and skin cancer
Besides no ones wants to look OLD before their time, and we don't have to age the same way older generations did. You could have great skin at 80, that's my point.

I know if you don't use lotion, your skin will inevitably dry out - especially during Winter months.
As in, you WILL see visible effects and even feel discomfort resulting from the lack of usage within a day or two.
But is sunscreen in that same category?
Your skin will eventually get used to the lack of lotion and start to provide it's own moisture.
So no sunscreen isn't in that category, its like with toothpaste, what's the point of using it if your not going to use it everyday? Yh your breath will smell, but toothpaste's main function isn't smells, there's a health component also associated with brushing your teeth that's only seen if you do it consistently, same with wearing sunscreen.
There's the cosmetic benefit as well as a health benefit.
gorl use it or don't
this has been researched by scientists, has research papers, been peer-reviewed, has countless studies ect.
Not everything needs a debate :dead:
Yes
And I was talking about sunscreen, I used toothpaste as a comparison as to why you need to use it every day to get the maximum benefits.
Dentists recommend brush twice a day at least, and infective brushing can cause to you missing bacteria, plaque and tartar.
You eat everyday no? So you need to brush every day, even if you don't eat everyday you need something to clean away the bacteria, acids eating at the enamel, formation of plaque ect.
So yes not brushing consistently and properly everyday is the same as not brushing at all.
Same as not using sunscreen every day, sun damage is culmantive, this means it doesn't disappear overnight and you get undamaged skin the next day.

But I think it's only fair that I share my views as you shared yours.
& that's all fine and fair, but THINKING your POC card provides enough protection is a common misconception and I was just letting you and anyone else that thought the same that entered the thread know so. It wasn't a personal attack.
ok
I think it's a mixture of genetics, melanin, and care
My grandma doesn't use sunscreen and her mess is smooth as fuck :dead: it amazes me how great she looks tbh
And she's a lighter brown womuh
But then I see people who are darker than me looking 70 at 40 years old :plzstop:
I only use it when I'm in the sun for hours at a time.
I'm honestly not concerned about looking a MESS at a young age. Nobody in my family looks a fool at 60/70/80
Hell, people still think I'm 23/24
Yeah I have sunscreen in my Vitamin E face moisturizer from Malin & Goetz

I have a love/hate with sunscreen. There's only been ONE that I LOVED, but they discontinued it. lsdjhlzgv ew
Either I like one and it's too expensive. Or one is fine but then it breaks me out. Or it leaves me looking like Casper. But here are some that I like. I tend to find that Asian sunscreens are better.
This is an Asian one. And affordable. Plus it doubles as a moisturizer.
Shani Darden (esthetician to the stars) recommends this one. I like it, but it's kind of oily. It's probably amazing for really dry skin.

This is probably the most natural one I've ever used. It only has good oils, beeswax and zinc oxide for the sun protection. The only downside is it's $50. Lasts a long time though. I've had it for 2 months and I'm sure it'll last a few more months.

I have the misha in the blue bottle. I forgot why I didn't like it but it was probably due to strong fragrance or it not being easily bendable. If I can find it I'll probably use it for my body, but right now I'm using the etude house one for my body since it has a stronger white cast than I'd like and tons of alcohol.
I swear by this one currently.
It's 100% physical and doesn't have fragrance or alcohol. It goes on pretty greasy but dries down matte and has virtually no white cast. It was perfect for the summer but now that I'm using tret for anti aging I'm on the hunt for something more moisturizing (I'm going thru the skin peeling phase). Still for $30 you get 4 oz so its a good deal compared to other high end cosmetically elegant sunscreens. I recently ordered the Josie Maran spf 47 and I'm looking forward to it. It has argon oil so it makes your face glow. It was $32 for 2 oz so its definitely on the expensive side.

It?s slways difficult going to places where English of Spanish isn?t the main or known language.
Their subway system was so easy to master. I?d suggest planning ahead and going to a different district (for lack of another word) each day. I?ve never been anywhere else where every stop had it?s own different atmosphere.
The vending machines are life. Oh a tip ...my rude ass didn?t realize until a week in that ppl queued for the subway. I was just waltzing right pass them :raycharles2urmess:
The vending machines are life. I?d also suggest to take a day trip to Osaka or even 2 nights. Especially if you don?t know if you?ll go back again.
I was there during the election and ppl just kept asking about big orange :hmph:

Asians really be having the best products. I bought so many good things in Tokyo 2 years ago.
Can?t wait to pick up some things in Korea in a few weeks.
how was Tokyo?
I want to go but I've been told two things
Oh it's cool if you're not Asian!
And
Oh, if you're not Japanese you're shun! Especially as a visitor!
The people were actually extremely friendly and polite.
It?s slways difficult going to places where English of Spanish isn?t the main or known language.
