1, it's Christmas. People want to buy gifts for others and assuming some iTunes or google download would suffice is kinda silly. I'm sure that was the initial strategy OF releasing in December; the Christmas sales spike.

3; demand or not, they have done this to her before and she proved to the label that Monica is majorly a physical sales artist.
