R&B that is just straight forward hard hitting songs about love, heartbreak, fucking, intimacy w/ no skips that the general public can vibe and sing along to...Brandy needs a grown classic that is undeniable...all ppl talk about is Full Moon or NSN and that was over 20 yrs ago. I'll take this or a summer feel type album with hard hitting knock, vocal layering and crazy runs but it needs to feel classic
No, Brandy needs to leave R&B alone and go into Adult Contemporary/Pop Soul. That audience will open up doors for her. Brandy is a crossover act.
And the dexterity of her voice shines on lyrical records.
This is insanity. She does not need to go pop anything It won't work. Her audience is R&B period. If anything she can get 2 tracks from kaytranada but her album needs to be about love, heartbreak, and girls having fun. Period.
Never Say Never was AC with Pop/R&B and it's her biggest album.
Almost Doesn't Count is an AC song. Her most requested unreleased song is "Hate it that you love me". That's an AC song as well.
An urban contemporary struggle love ballad may give her a cute Jazmine Sullivan "Heaux Tales" moment but Brandy's voice is bigger than that. Her audience is wider than just R&B.
