Fanny and Halle look nothing alike but it's more of an age thing than skin color. I can attest personally to having light and dark skinned siblings from the same parents

Yes of course. They proab will have Halle just play young Nettie alongside another actress for young Celie but they still could have stuck with a darker skinned female. I'm sure they will give good sis a tan though

if fantasia dark? no. is fantasia ugly? no. abd tasia ain't but a couple damn shades lighter than halle. and neither are light-skinned. yes, REPRESENTATION is an issue in hollywood. but nit-picking which girl is light or dark ENOUGH to play this or that is dumb and counter-productive. and clearly wasn't a concern for that casting of halle OR fantasia. it's the TALENT that mattered. and they both posess undeniable amounts of it. case closed.
