All I know is their names and my mom almost cried when I told her she didn't even know her grandparents on that side because they died young.
I definitely know the feeling. Just knowing the NAMES of your ancestors can definitely trigger feelings. she probably thought she'd never find that out. I'm sure she kissed and hugged you for a million years. :dead: :dead: the power of genealogy!

Grandparents especially, that is so crucial. Your parents' parents. I couldn't imagine not even knowing the names of my grandparents.

Keep trying , my love. I was almost ready to throw in the towel on my great grandmother's side until I tried a different angle , and everything unlocked. Finally got all of her siblings names , which is something I wanted for the LONGEST time.

The reward is well worth the work. Nothing worthwhile comes with the snap of a finger. Did you send in a DNA kit? That'll also help you find cousin matches who may more family information than you would.

The AncestryDNA cousin matches are VERY accurate.

It's just that one side ACK! Every other side I'm at least able to go back to right around the end of slavery 1830-1860ish.

It really is an amazing feeling even my dad who knows his family history pretty good was taken back seeing all those names. Yeah I did the Dna test just waiting on the results and it's KILLING MEH!
Blessed Be The Mufuckin Fruit!!!

What this Badger animal meant to my ancestors...this is amazing. Definitely something I am taking in.
Like I assumed, Chief's parents wanted her brother to be a strong man and a protector.

Quote

According to Native Americans, the sighting of badger tracks was very auspicious. Seeing badger trackswas a message that all things are possible when we tap into our inner creative powers.

The badger stops at nothing to get what it wants, and this is a lesson for us to be persistent in our pursuits. Specifically, those with the badger totem often attract this creature because he/she has difficulty finishing what is started. The badger will help with this aspect in life. You can call upon the stubborn, strong-willed nature of the badger to help you complete any project you start.

The badger is also fiercely independent and can be quite aggressive when threatened. This is a lesson for us to stand our ground and make our presence known when the situation calls for it. Although smaller in stature, the badger commands attention from friend and foe alike. We can do the same, but we must be mindful that we do so in a healthy, constructive manner.

The badger is connected to the earth, and therefore is a grounding totem for us. When we feel out of touch, or confused the badger can help us get rooted, and anchor us to what is important in our lives.

When the badger comes into our lives it is time for get busy with projects, speak up and ask for help if we need it in our lives. The badger is also a sign that it is time for us come out of hiding - it's time for us to let the world know we are here, and we mean business!

Lastly, the symbolism of the badger also includes individuality. The badger is a unique creature, well equipped to meet all the challenges it faces. It lives its life quite effectively. And although its methods might seem unorthodox, the badger doesn't care what the rest of the animal kingdom thinks about them. This is perhaps the greatest lesson the badger imparts to us. In short, the badger tell us to "walk your own path at your own pace." Never mind what others may say. Have faith in your own abilities and know that you are well-equipped to take on whatever challenge faces you.

I want a badger now :stressed:  :plzstop: :plzstop:
this is unreal. almost feels like I am dreaming

i am so fucking turnt right now.

My only question is, what did they have in mind when they named Grandma Chief? :dead:

Badger has a meaning , Leola has its meaning .... they gave one girl such a delicate name for a flower and threw "Chief" on Grandma. :dead: :dead: thats such a strong name for a girl.

Waiiittttt....She was the first born, so maybe that's why they did that??? :dead: In other words the leader of the clan! They probably knew they were having more kids. cuz Leola literally came the next year. :plzstop:  Just a guess though. not speaking for them.

Be patient my love! You have PLENTY of time to dig in.
I can tell you're serious about actually knowing who you are, not looking for some quick results...so you're going to be fine.

Trust me, once you get those results, especially with the cousin results you're gonna be on your way!
Imma be right here if you need me . :stressed: have so much luv for you hun. you've been nothing but supportive during my entire quest for self and trust the love will be returned.
