These people are paid scraps to have to deal with someone else's child, who probably has PTSD and behavioral issues stemming from everything they have to deal with outside the walls of the school.
And you can be an Assistant Manager at Domninos Pizza and make more while dealing with so much less.
But a lot of it is their mindset. Most of these teachers come into these places with the mentality "Well most of these lil mofos are on the way to prison anyway. Why extend myself?"
Those kind need to be weeded out. Teaching kids is something you should be doing because you love it. Kids thrive when they feel you give shit about em.
Same time, they aren't given the tools to do their jobs. The curriculum is dated and not set up for the digital age.
We are just truly fucked as a nation when it comes to education. And our black kids are suffering the most.
